We, the citizens of the State of Israel, who have experienced the indiscriminate missile attacks from the terror groups in Gaza during the events of May 2021, call on the UN Commission of Inquiry headed by Navi Pillay to call out the actions of the terrorist organizations Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and the PFLP in the Gaza Strip as war crimes and crimes against humanity.
Rocket fire deliberately targeting a civilian population, with the intent to maim, injure, terrorize, and kill as many uninvolved civilians as possible, is a war crime and a blatant violation of international law.
We, the citizens of all faiths and ethnicities, our families and property, were a declared and intentional target for the deadly terrorist attacks of the terror organizations in Gaza.
4,400 rockets were fired at us, forcing us to run desperately for shelter. We had to protect our children with our own bodies, on our way to school or in the playgrounds.
Thanks to the Iron Dome and actions of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the lives of tens of thousands of us were saved, and hundreds of rocket launchers aimed at our homes were neutralized. Had it not been for the IDF and the Iron Dome that intercepted these rockets over our cities, the terrorist organizations in Gaza would have massacred us and our children.
When, on the one hand, there is an organization that fires at civilians from within citizens' homes, using them as human shields, and on the other hand, a protective force acting to stop these terrorist acts, the position of international law is clear.
We call on the UN Commission of Inquiry and all world leaders to recognize the war crimes that Hamas and the other terrorist organizations in Gaza have committed and continue to commit against us.
We will no longer stay silent. Our voices deserve to be heard!
